I am a Melbourne girl, I was born and bred in the rural and South Eastern Suburbs of this unpredictable but wonderfully delicatable city.
During the past school holidays I took my mother to Sydney to see the stage performance of The Lion King.
I want to begin this post on a high… So number 1 on FOAF list of Sydney Do’s and Do Not’s…
DO make the effort to fly to Syndey in the next few months to see this spectacular stage performace, it is absolutely worth every penny of the effort! Promise.
(but lets be honest… there is no need to stress because the performance is coming to Melbourne next year anyway!) But for those of you who have been or are visitor to Sydney, you will feel my pain when I say DONT go to Sydney expecting a stress free trip!
Number One on the DONT list is the geography of the place. DO NOT GO TO SYDNEY WITHOUT A CURRENT MAP AND A FRIEND WHO KNOWS THE CITY LIKE THE BACK OF THEIR HAND.
If Melbourne is the perfectly organised mother of a family of 5 who knows where everythings is and how to get places everytime, then Sydney is the confused adolence child that thinks he or she knows where they are going but gets lost and confused 100% of the time… I cannot stress this enough. BUY A MAP AND A GOOD FRIEND.
Number Two… DEFFINANTLY GO TO SYDNEY FOR THE SHOPPING.
I know I have quoted Melbourne as the fashion capital of Australia on multiple occations, but at the end of the day, if you love your high end and wonderfully large and spectacular department stores, then Sydney is your place!
NUMBER SIX… DONT JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!
Have you been to or live in Sydney? Let me know about your expereinces!
